Karma Automotive has introduced its exclusive Eximius initiative, debuting the first model in the lineup—the plug-in hybrid Eximius 1. Built upon the Revero’s foundation, this vehicle replaces its original three-cylinder engine with a 6.2-liter V-8. According to the manufacturer, the Eximius 1 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and achieves a maximum speed of 200 mph.

Customization has become a defining trend among luxury automakers, each establishing specialized programs to serve their most affluent clientele. Porsche operates Sonderwunsch, Bugatti offers Sur Mesure, and Rolls-Royce provides its Coachbuild division. Now, Karma Automotive, a U.S.-based manufacturer specializing in sleek plug-in hybrid sedans, has unveiled its own bespoke program, Eximius, with the Eximius 1 revealed at the Concours at Wynn in Las Vegas.

Eximius Program

Originally emerging from the remnants of Fisker Automotive, Karma has marketed variations of the Fisker Karma, including the Revero and GS-6, intermittently over the past decade. The Revero operates as a series hybrid, utilizing a turbocharged three-cylinder engine to generate power for a battery, which then supplies electricity to two rear-mounted electric motors. While the Revero is being phased out in favor of the newly introduced Gyesera, refining the same design and hybrid approach, the brand is concluding the model’s production with this limited-edition creation.

Eximius 1 Features

The Eximius 1 transforms the Revero’s architecture into a high-performance machine. The signature three-cylinder unit has been replaced by a 6.2-liter V-8, boosting the plug-in hybrid system’s total output to 1,195 horsepower, a figure exceeding the Revero’s output by over 600 hp. Karma reports the vehicle reaches 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and sustains speeds up to 200 mph. To support its enhanced capabilities, the model incorporates carbon-ceramic, two-piece slotted brake rotors and Öhlins semi-active dampers.

Measuring nearly two inches wider than the standard Revero, the Eximius 1 prominently features carbon-fiber throughout its construction. Upon closer inspection, the front fenders display exposed carbon-fiber, while the front doors showcase a gradient transition from blue paint to the carbon weave, creating a distinctive visual effect. The car is mounted on 21-inch magnesium center-lock wheels.

Engineered for track performance, the Eximius 1 boasts an aggressive aerodynamic design. At the front, a carbon-fiber splitter is flanked by wide air intakes incorporating an LED line, which aligns with the headlights’ LED elements to form an arrow pointing toward the vehicle’s center. Flanking the headlights are two narrow air vents, lending the car an intimidating expression.

Additional vents on the front fenders release wheel-well pressure, while a large panel marked with the number 5 functions as a brake-cooling vent. Below, a polished billet aluminum exhaust tip shows the model’s performance orientation. Near the rear doors, a vertical fin extends from the bodywork, and the rear end features a substantial diffuser paired with a tall wing.

Inside, the cabin integrates blue-tinted carbon-fiber across the seats, steering wheel, center console, doors, and dashboard. The Recaro bucket seats combine blue Alcantara and blue leather on the lower sections, with Alcantara in a shade called Moondust on the upper portions. The accelerator, brake, and dead pedals are crafted from billet machined aluminum, and the center console has been streamlined to essential controls, including a red emergency kill switch.

Through the Eximius program, buyers can specify alterations to the vehicle’s body, powertrain, and performance components, allowing for a fully personalized driving experience. Karma intends to produce a maximum of nine custom vehicles based on each production model released. The Eximius 1 marks the initiative’s first offering and is scheduled for delivery in 2027.
