The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a significant vehicle in the US market, where full-size pickup trucks are extremely popular. General Motors has introduced new generations of the Sierra 1500 and Silverado 1500, both of which are now available to order. To explore the possibilities, four staffers were given the task of creating their ideal version of the Silverado 1500 using the configurator on the consumer website.
Carter Fry’s ideal Silverado 1500 is a Work Truck with a regular cab, standard bed, and two-wheel drive. He chose the Apex Red paint job, which comes at no additional cost. Fry’s goal is to prepare the truck for aftermarket modifications, and he plans to keep the price reasonable. He opted for cloth seats instead of the standard Evotex seats and added a black bowtie emblem for $325.
Configuring the Perfect Truck
Fry’s configuration starts at $41,720, but he plans to add several aftermarket modifications. He found a lowering kit from McGaughy’s Suspension Parts that drops the front by 2.5 inches and the rear by 4 inches for $1,380. He also chose Mickey Thompson cast aluminum MT Open 5 wheels, which cost $285.99 per wheel, and Nitto NT420V tires designed for large-diameter wheels.
He added the $4,600 four-wheel-drive system and the $970 4×4-specific Work Truck package, which includes an automatic mode for the two-speed transfer case, all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, and hill-descent control. Stafford’s configuration comes to $49,920.
