Nissan is investing heavily in off-roading and overlanding lifestyles, as evident from its newest SEMA concepts. The Japanese automaker unveiled the Nissan Pathfinder XE-V6 Concept, which is based on the 2027 model-year Pathfinder Rock Creek SUV.
The Pathfinder XE-V6 concept blends retro-inspired styling with a 295-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6, but the real focus of the build lies elsewhere. A lifted suspension, new wheels and tires, and massaged bodywork make this current Pathfinder more capable than ever.
A custom four-inch suspension lift kit and cradle spacers raise the chassis, while Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tires round out the off-road upgrades. The automaker added prototype Nismo 18-inch AX-5 wheels and Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tires to the concept, which likely raise ground clearance beyond the factory-spec Pathfinder Rock Creek’s 7.7 inches.
It also features a custom high-clearance front bumper equipped with two six-inch Nismo Off-Road lights, giving the front a more aggressive look and improving the approach angle. The rear bumper receives the same high-clearance treatment, incorporating recovery points and an integrated hitch for added utility.
Custom rock rails, a rear swing-out tire carrier, skid plates, and underbody protection round out the build. A RotoPax gas can is strapped to the side of the SUV, ready for adventures far from the beaten path.
The company is also bringing a roofless, safari-ready Nissan Armada to SEMA, officially called the Nissan Armada Jungle Patrol. This concept showcases a widened track, a CJD long-travel racing suspension, and special high-performance adjustable coilovers designed for demanding off-road use.
The open-roof version includes a tubular roll cage, inward-facing seats, custom steel bumpers, and fender flares. 37-inch Yokohama all-terrain tires are mated to prototype Nismo 18-inch Axis beadlock wheels.
According to Kim Less, vice president of aftersales and customer loyalty at Nissan Americas, “Capability, confidence and off-road excitement have been core parts of the Nissan brand for decades.” The SEMA Show concepts let builders unleash creativity, while also exploring ideas and innovations that can help inform the direction for accessorizing future Nissan trucks and SUVs.
