Monterey’s 2026 Car Week is hosting various reveals, including several Porsches that aren’t technically Porsches. The event has become a hub for showcasing highly limited or one-off new supercars, with many coming from customization garages that restomod or modernize classics.
Modified Porsches are particularly popular, and this year’s Car Week features several examples. One notable reveal is the partnership between Singer and Louis Vuitton, resulting in two one-off Singers – a Classic coupe and a Turbo convertible.
The Singer-Louis Vuitton collaboration is the first time the French fashion house has worked with a car company. The resulting cars feature unique details, such as a dashboard clock based on Louis Vuitton’s Tambour watch, which can be removed and used as a desk clock.
The Classic model is painted in Louis Vuitton’s signature saffron color, complemented by blue “demonstration tires.” The interior has been retrimmed in the fashion firm’s diamond pattern, adding to the car’s exclusive feel. The entire instrument display had to be redesigned to accommodate the dashboard clock.
Another example of a customized Porsche is the Marc Phillip Gembella Marsien GT, produced by the son of long-standing Porsche tuner Uwe Gembella. The Marsien GT is based on a 992 Turbo S and features a RUF-tuned flat-six engine, producing 819bhp and capable of reaching 62mph in 2.4 seconds.

Only 30 Marsien GTs will be produced, and the car’s design is clearly inspired by the Porsche 959. The company stresses that it is not associated with the original Gembella brand “in any form.”
The RUF Ehra is another example of a Porsche that isn’t technically a Porsche. Based on an in-house developed carbon fiber monocoque structure chassis, the Ehra uses RUF’s own twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine, producing 641bhp.
The Gunther Werks GXR-Evo is a 993-based creation designed to go as fast as possible. With its 4.0-liter flat-six engine producing 489bhp, the firm has scrutinized every component for weight, bringing the dry figure down to 1082kg.
Gunther Werks will only make 15 versions of the GXR-Evo, each coming with its own racing sim mirroring the car’s carbon fiber construction and featuring the same steering wheel.
Porsche itself has also made an appearance at Monterey Week, revealing the new Flachbau RS, a one-off slantnose special based on the 991 GT2 RS with upgrades from Manthey Racing. Produced by Porsche’s Sonderwunsch “special requests” division, the Flachbau RS solves the mystery of the car seen testing on several occasions at the Nurburgring, with a testing program that included 50 laps of the Nordschleife.
